Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Nick Hunter. I was contacted by a friend asking if I would help photograph her sons wedding. So, happy I was there to share the day with them. It started off a rainy day and then the weather broke. It ended up being a beautiful day. The church ceremony was perfect! I had never photographed a church wedding and had the honor to do so that day.
Being a mother I know how much my boys mean to me and was honored when my friend asked me to capture her sons precious day. I’ve known Beth Hunter for several years now and she is such an amazing person. I absolutely adore her and was to honored she thought of me to capture her sons day.
(Funny story, my oldest son’s birthday is actually tomorrow.)
I had the pleasure to sit at the parents of the brides table during the reception. What a lovely couple. I found out I actually live close to where Molly works, less than a mile in fact. She’s teaches at high school not far from my house.
The reception was located at the YMCA Sherman Lake Camp. My daughter attended 5th grade camp there and recognized the fire place right away. The food was amazing and the fruit and vegetable table was so elegant and very fall-ish. I absolutely loved the s’more station and all of the games on the deck. This reception was meant to be fun for everyone including the kids that attended. I was impressed with all of the things that people were able to do during the reception.
I think my most favorite part about the reception was when Michigan beat Wisconsin 14-7 and the DJ played the Michigan Fight Song. The guests erupted in song and it was the official start to the party!

A year ago today Maywan and Nikkita said ‘I do’. A good friend of mine Jermaine Jackson contacted me just a couple of days before the wedding asking if I was available to photograph his brothers wedding. Of course I said ‘Yes’! This family had recently lost someone very important to them. Maywan’s mother passed away. The wedding was an elopement. Nikkita and Maywan had been together for a while and decided they wanted to make it official.
This wedding was particularly special because Maywan’s brother Jermaine was the officiant. He was up front with his brother on his special day. That’s not an everyday occurrence.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the seats or at the alter. In fact I even cried. It was a very beautiful and delicate ceremony held at Kindleberger Park in Parchment Michigan.
After the ceremony we walked around and were able to get some very beautiful photos!
Nikkita was absolutely stunning. Breathtaking in fact. What a beautiful person inside and out. She didn’t even know that it was going to be photographed and when she found out was so thankful.
Maywan was a little late to the ceremony. However, everyone knew he was coming. The second he saw Nikkita you could see his heart smile. She is definitely his other half.
When you love someone and it shows through the photos, I know I have done my job. The love that these two have for each other is amazing. Maywan looks at Nikkita like she’s the last soul on Earth. Their love is what young people dream about! It was a joy and an honor to be a part of their special day! I wish them all the happiness this world has to offer!
