My husband and I did not have engagement photos, nor did we have many photos of our wedding day. So, several of our key moments in our lives have very little documentation. It bothers us but there’s not much we can do now.
However, being a photographer I do try to photograph us as much as possible. It is hard to get in front of the camera though. Especially with 3 kids. Someone is always crying and we have to take many breaks. I love it though. It’s challenging and hard sometimes, but my husband I do our best to make sure that we have many photos of each other and the whole family.
It has probably been over 20 years since I have had my photo taken with my mom. My mom absolutely hates having her photo taken. However, she knows how important it is for me to have a photo of her. Especially, with my daughter. My mom and daughter are very close and I know, she knows that one day she will be gone and the photos that I have of her with my daughter will be the only thing that my daughter has left.
To be completely honest it is not my favorite to be in front of the camera either. I love taking photos of other people and them telling me how much they love the photos. Being a photographer I know the true meaning of photo and I know how much they mean after a person passes. I am so thankful that my mom let me photograph her, these photos will cherished for many many years to come.
What makes a great man?! Jermaine Jackson is one of the greats. He goes out of his way to help people whenever he can. I first met Jermaine at his sons baseball practice. I was there with my son. Jermaine knew my husband but it was an honor to finally meet the infamous Jermaine who loves movies and always referred my husband to the best ones.
Jermaine cares about the community. Kalamazoo is is HIS community and he does his best to help as many people as he can. He loves God and his wife with his whole heart. You can tell when Jermaine talks about his wife Briana that he has met his soul-mate. His eyes sparkle when he looks at her.
It is an honor and a blessing to know this man and his family.
